Getting mysql working
ok in this tutorial i will explain how to get mysql working using the unzip to c drive version.
First your gonna have to download mysql. to download mysql Click here this may take a wheil to download because of its massive file size. the file is 19.8 MB. Next your gonna wanna unzip the file to your C drive. To do this find where you downloaded and right click on the folder and click extract all once you do that make sure that you save the folder to your C drive. now that you have done that, find in your C drive a folder called mysql-4.0.16 that is the default name unless you changed it. now that you have found the file open it. Now inside that folder find anthor file called bin. open that file. Now inside of that folder find a file called winmysqladmin double click that and now you should have mysql working. don't worry about minimzing it will automaticly do that once it finds all of its drivers. to make sure it is working look at your tool bar, if you see something that looks like a trafic light with it being green your mysql server is on. Here is an image of what i am talking about .Click Here now that you got mysql, read this forum to get apache and php working.
