User Lookup Layout

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to learn layouts for a very very long time, and for some reason I just can't get a hang of it, w/ all the tutorials in the world. I don't want anyone to do this for me I want to learn for myself but I'm at a standstill right now with my current layout, because I have no idea what to do next.

This current Layout is for Neopets. I have created the raw layout (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...dee/Image1.gif) and am ready to turn the sidebar into a functional sidebar, and make the transparent tables text areas.

Again, I'm not looking for someone to do anything for me but to guide me through it
