Transferring Host, keeping files?
I'm about to move my websites to another host. I already know how to login and change my DNS information, but my question is about transferring all of my files, not the domain.
Instead of paying someone else to transfer my stuff, I prefer to do it myself. The only thing I'm worried about moving are my emails. Both of my hosts use Cpanel and support email. I currently have several email accounts on my domain with a ton of email (almost 20mb of my space are for email) that I would like moved over to my new host. Does anyone know which files I need to save and upload to my new host to bring my emails over? My current host supports NeoMail, Horde, and SquirrelMail. I kind of have an idea of files to save, but I just need to make sure so I won't break my mail. Thanks! |

For files, like web pages, you can log in to your FTP and save them to your computer.
As far as email goes, usually it's separate from the hosting package and is attached to the domain itself. With most companies if you keep the domain in tact, you can change host providers and keep your email with the company that provides you with the domain. |
